Karim Benzema (37) continues to score the goals for Al-Ittihad. The Frenchman has five goals in nine appearances in all competitions for the Saudi Arabian club this season.
To date, he has 463 goals at club level and a further 37 at international level. It has been an illustrious career for the former France international, who also won the Ballon d’Or back in 2022. However, all careers come to an end and Benzema has now given a strong suggestion as to when his will do the same.
Having begun his career at Olympique Lyonnais, he quickly earned a move to Real Madrid, where he would go on to win five UEFA Champions League titles. He joined Al-Ittihad on a free transfer back in the summer of 2023, and his current deal with the Gulf State clubs expires at the end of the season.
There is therefore uncertainty over his future. But he does not intend to stop playing upon the expiry of his current deal. As the Frenchman told AS, he is “feeling good” and has expressed a desire to “continue playing for two years.” The question is whether that will be at Al-Ittihad or elsewhere.
