Cristiano Ronaldo extended his lead at the top of the 2025-26 Roshn Saudi League scoring charts with the winner at Damac on Wednesday night to send Al Nassr back into second and close the gap on leaders Al Hilal.

The Portuguese superstar, winner of the past two RSL golden boots, latched onto a Joao Felix through-ball five minutes into the second half in Abha to finish expertly past Damac goalkeeper Kewin and put Al Nassr 2-0 up.

Abdulrahman Ghareeb had netted the visitors' first-half opener with a sublime bit of skill and finish inside the Damac penalty area.

Ronaldo’s goal - his 16th of the RSL season - lifted his professional career total to 960 goals as the Al Nassr captain moves ever closer to that 1,000 milestone. He also had a goal disallowed for a marginal offside.

Damac did make it nervy, though, when defender Jamal Harknass headed home midway through the second half to halve the deficit.

However, Al Nassr held out for the win, which saw them reclaim second spot from Ivan Toney-inspired Al Ahli and pull to within four points of league leaders Al Hilal. Their Riyadh rivals have a chance to further open up their advantage on Thursday night, at home to Al Fayha.

Yet Ronaldo, who now leads Toney by two at the top of the 2025-26 scoring charts, urged Al Nassr not to give up in the title race, posting on social media: “Keep pushing. Keep believing. Keep fighting.”
