Atletico Madrid v Barcelona - Goals galore in phoney war

Saturday 04 April, 20:00

Vidéos OneFootball

By the time the season finishes, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona will have faced each other six times across three competitions. In La Liga, Barcelona won 3-1 at home against Los Colchoneros, while in the Copa del Rey semi-finals Atleti won the first leg 4-0 at home and squeezed through despite a 3-0 second-leg reverse at Camp Nou.

These two giants of Spanish football are about to do battle again across two legs of a Champions League quarter-final, but before then they will meet at the Metropolitano in La Liga. Barca can't afford to be distracted by that upcoming UCL clash, as they are looking to protect a four-point lead over Real Madrid in the title race.

Barcelona's recent record at the Metropolitano is very impressive. They have won on four of their last five competitive visits, which made their hammering in February all the more remarkable.

I'm going to put together a 2.14 treble here on the Bet Builder that features Over 2.5 Goals, BTTS and Atleti forward Antoine Griezmann to have a shot on target. Griezmann has hit the target in 13 of his last 21 appearances in all competitions, and he had two shots on target in the 4-0 win over Barca in February.

Barca have seen an Over 2.5 Goals bet pay out in 14 of their last 17 matches, and the Over 2.5 Goals/BTTS combo has landed nine times in that sequence. Hansi Flick's side have managed just one clean sheet across their last eight away matches.

Lille v Lens - Visitors' title challenge to falter

Saturday 04 April, 20:05Live on Ligue 1 Pass

We've tiptoed into April, and remarkably Lens are still in the race for the Ligue 1 title. Pierre Sage has shown himself to be an outstanding coach, and the club have backed him up with smart signings like Florian Thauvin and Alain Saint-Maximin.

Not only have Lens exceeded all expectations in the league, but they have also reached the semi-finals of the Coupe de France, and have a fantastic chance to win it. A modest Toulouse side will visit the Felix Bollaert in the semi-finals, and then either Strasbourg or ailing Nice await in the final.

However, my suspicion is that the title charge will lose steam against Lille this weekend. Lens have started to slip up on a more regular basis, winning just two of their last five top-flight matches. On the road it's just one win from the last four, a run that includes defeats at Marseille and Lorient.

Lille are nowhere near the side that defeated both Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid in the Champions League last term, but Bruno Genesio remains a fine coach, and a run of four wins and three draws has got Les Dogues back into the race for Champions League qualification. Recent wins at Rennes and Marseille have really caught the eye.

I'm happy to back Lille Draw No Bet here at 1.94. Our friends at Opta tell us that Lens have lost on nine of their last ten league visits to Saturday's opponents, and the hosts are finding their form at the end of a troubled campaign.

Borussia Mönchengladbach v Heidenheim - Bosnian hero to ride the wave

Saturday 04 April, 14:30

It's been quite the season for Haris Tabakovic. The burly Bosnian striker was loaned to Borussia Mönchengladbach by Hoffenheim in the summer, and was expected to be a backup for club captain Tim Kleindienst. However, Kleindienst has had his season wrecked by injury, and Tabakovic has been front and centre of the Foals' attack.

Tabakovic scored Bosnia-Herzegovina's crucial equaliser against Italy in midweek, a goal that contributed to a first qualification for a World Cup since 2014. At club level, he has scored 11 league goals and a further two in the DFB Pokal.

With confidence coursing through him, Tabakovic should relish facing one of the poorest defences in Europe's top five leagues, as rock-bottom Heidenheim come to town. It is a miracle that FCH are even competing at this level, but in their third Bundesliga season, footballing gravity has truly kicked in. Heidenheim have leaked 61 goals in 27 league games, they have collected just 15 points and they are spiralling towards relegation.

Gladbach have won their last two home games, and they won the reverse fixture 3-0. Opta tell us that Heidenheim have lost on all three visits to Borussia Park.

I'll back Gladbach to win and Tabakovic to score at 2.14 on the Sportsbook's Bet Builder.Bet £10 Get £10 offer still applies to accas and Bet Builders.
