13 years after leaving Castroper Straße, Kevin Vogt is returning to VfL Bochum.
The 33-year-old central defender has signed a contract until 2027 with the 2. Bundesliga side and joins from 1. FC Union Berlin.
“It really is something special to come back to Bochum and to VfL,” said Vogt.
“For the medical check, I drove through my old neighborhood – I know every street there. Here at VfL, I’ve seen some long-standing staff members again, and I even ran into my former teammate Andi Luthe at the office – it feels really good.
“I’m genuinely excited about the challenge. I’m already looking forward to getting started with training and getting to know the team. We all want success– and I want to contribute my qualities and experience to that goal.”
Since leaving Bochum as a young player, Vogt has played for Augsburg, 1. FC Köln, Hoffenheim, Werder Bremen, and Union Berlin. Now, he’s back where it all started.
