Key Real Madrid star could be rested by France after picking up knock vs Brazil | OneFootball

Aurelien Tchouameni has developed into an integral member of the team not only for Real Madrid but also for France.

The 26-year-old midfielder is a permanent fixture in the starting lineup for every game, be it for his club or country.

Earlier this week, Tchouameni started for Les Bleus in the friendly against Brazil played in the USA and delivered an outstanding performance.

Tchouameni to be rested against Colombia

However, according to AS, Tchouameni finished the game against Brazil with a minor knock, which led to him being substituted.

And, as a result, France manager Didier Deschamps could consider resting the key midfielder for the upcoming friendly against Colombia next week.

“He took a slight knock to his knee,” Deschamps had explained after the win against Brazil, in which France emerged triumphant 2-1, courtesy of goals from Kylian Mbappe and Hugo Ekitike.

Tchouameni, starting in midfield, put in a masterful display as he won possession repeatedly in his area, halted every promising Brazilian attack, and delivered numerous vertical passes to spark forward moves.

In fact, Mbappe’s goal in the first half came after the 26-year-old midfielder had won possession inside his own half.

Tchouameni misplaced only two passes, completing 30 out of 32 for a 92% success rate. He recorded three interceptions, made two ball recoveries, and completed 19 of 21 passes in the opposition half.

With his place in the squad for the World Cup already locked in, Deschamps could opt to rest Tchouameni against Colombia after the knock he picked up, so that the midfielder can arrive for Real Madrid’s crucial Champions League tie vs Bayern Munich in top shape.
