Keylor Navas will not return to Levante

A legendary homecoming will ultimately not happen. While Keylor Navas had offered to rejoin Levante UD after the club's promotion to La Liga, the sporting directors have declined the option.

The former Real Madrid goalkeeper, who also played for Paris and most recently Newell’s, had hoped to end his career where it all truly began. But according to several reliable sources, the 38-year-old Costa Rican international is heading to Mexico, where Pumas UNAM are reportedly close to finalizing his arrival.

This move fits perfectly with the goalkeeper’s ultimate goal: to compete in a fourth World Cup with Costa Rica in 2026 before he hangs up his gloves for good. At Pumas, Navas would cross paths with Sergio Ramos, now at Monterrey, for one final dance in Liga MX. A last challenge for one of the greatest goalkeepers of his generation.
