Klopp hits back at Hoeneß: "His opinion doesn't always have to align with mine" | OneFootball

Jürgen Klopp has pushed back at Bayern Munich honorary president Uli Hoeneß’s view that his role as Red Bull’s Head of Soccer is not the right fit.

“For me, that’s not a role that suits him. Jürgen Klopp needs to be on the football pitch. He’s not someone who travels the world giving lectures,” said Hoeneß, speaking to Bild.

“His greatest strength is his interpersonal skills and how he can motivate players. But how are you supposed to push things in Leipzig when you’re already back in Salzburg and then flying to Brazil?”

Klopp then offered a brief rebuttal.

“I have always had the utmost respect for Uli Hoeneß, and even more so for his opinion. But his opinion doesn’t always have to align with mine. And in this case, I see it a little differently …” Klopp said.
