Vincent Kompany has turned Bayern Munich into an European powerhouse once again. The win against Chelsea showed that the Bavarians must be named when talking about favourites for the title this year.

“Our performance was very good; the game was quite intensive and it was a lot of fun to watch. The boys have shown a lot of joy on the pitch.”

“I don't think Chelsea was our first real test this season - the games against Tottenham in pre-season, Stuttgart and Leipzig were already good challenges. Chelsea are of course a great team, they've won the Club World Cup a few months back and were in good form before this match, but we were concentrated and played well.”
