Boyd hit out at Jimmy Thelin”s dismal Dons accusing them of being spineless as watching the four in a row Scottish champions run riot, even with a much weakened side, seemed too much for the former Rangers striker to handle.

The reality is Celtic are indeed streets ahead of the rest of Scottish football and Boyd and his ilk just can’t accept that fact. Just the mere thought of more years of dominance is eating away at them. Kidding himself on that the Dons somehow ‘lay down’ once more is a smokescreen for them as the only other alternative is to say the truth and that would be that Celtic are undoubtedly and easily the best side in the country.

Some might even call that spineless

What was Kris Boyd’s thoughts on the same Dons side who got humbled at Ibrox by a trophy-less side that had been struggling to score a goal at home never mind win a game? Getting thumped 4-0 by a struggling theRangers is more embarrassing wouldn’t you say? Some might even call that spineless.

Aberdeen won’t need to worry about that Celtic team again as Brendan Rodgers will be making about eight changes for the next meeting which is at Hampden on Saturday 24 May in the Scottish Cup Final. The good news for the Sky Sports pundit is that the game is on Premier Sports so he’ll be able to avoid it rather than having to watch the action unfold and the celebrations thereafter.
