Kylian Mbappé back in Real Madrid training, in contention to face Benfica

Kylian Mbappé returned to group training with Real Madrid on Friday 13 February in Valdebebas after missing the previous two sessions, according to Glorioso 1904.

The forward had been managing discomfort in his left knee that kept him out in recent days, an issue that has lingered since the start of the year.

Before his return, there had been doubt over his involvement against Real Sociedad and Benfica. The 27-year-old has 38 goals and four assists in 31 games.

The expectation at Madrid is that he will be available for Saturday’s La Liga fixture and the high-stakes UEFA Champions League play-off against Benfica, which decides access to the round of 16.

The tie is scheduled for 21 February in Lisbon and 28 February in Madrid. Real Madrid remain the most decorated club in the competition with 15 titles.
