La Liga has entered the run-in, the final five matchdays when the title, European places and relegation are decided.

According to AS, the title is already decided, or close to it, and the next three places too, so the Champions League berths look set. Barcelona, Real Madrid, Villarreal and Atlético are poised to be the first four in that order unless something unexpected happens.

Spain’s European allocation for 2026-27 is not yet fixed. It depends on La Liga finishing second in the federation ranking, currently in a fight with Germany, and on whether Atlético and or Rayo Vallecano win the Champions League and Conference, which would give Spain one more place. Real Sociedad have a Europa League place via the Copa, and if they end in the top six, seventh could also reach Europe.

Betis, on 50 points, find fourth unlikely and fifth hard to lose, and that fifth may even carry a Champions League reward. Getafe and Celta, both on 44, could still reach the Champions League. Real Sociedad sit on 43 with Europa League secured, while Osasuna on 42 and Athletic on 41 hover between Europe and anxiety.

The survival fight could be the most tangled in years, with half the division involved. Rayo on 39 are focused on the Conference and face rivals with plenty at stake. Valencia also have 39, their run is heavy on big names, though Atlético and Rayo have other priorities and Barcelona might have nothing riding on the final day.

Espanyol, also on 39, are on a poor run and face a difficult calendar. Elche on 38 have found air but meet bumps ahead. Girona on 38 are rising and marooned in mid-table. Alavés on 36 have a kinder path if Barcelona are champions when they meet.

Mallorca on 35 play many away, with the last two against direct rivals. Sevilla on 34 face a gruelling stretch. Levante on 33 are improving but still reliant on others.
