Sunday’s La Liga action saw a double Andalucia win as Sevilla edged out three points at Rayo Vallecano and Real Betis disposed of Osasuna.

Los Verdiblancos have lost just once in all competitions at the start of 2025/26 and they rallied after a midweek UEFA Europa League draw with Nottingham Forest.

Alongside the wins for the above, Elche powered on, as the hosts remain unbeaten after a home win over Celta Vigo.

Let’s check out how the action unfolded…

Rayo Vallecano 0-1 Sevilla

Two sides with contrasting form faced off in Vallecas with Rayo without a win in four La Liga games ahead of hosting a Sevilla side who had lost just one in four.

Neither side created much in the first hour and the contest was effectively decided in the final five minutes.

Akor Adams came off the bench to crisply prod home his first-ever goal for Sevilla before Rayo striker Sergio Camello was sent off.

Elche 2-1 Celta Vigo

Elche have firmly been the surprise package of the season so far with seven games unbeaten since their return to the big time.

They end the weekend in fourth place with just a six point gap to leaders and defending champions Barcelona.

Andre Silva and Borja Iglesias continued their respective red hot form in front of goal with an early strike each.

There was a few nervous moments for the home side after the break, as Rafa Mir saw his penalty saved, before John Donald clinched the win with a bundled finish.

Real Betis 2-0 Celta Vigo

There was much less drama in Sunday’s final game as Real Betis picked up a crucial win after European duty.

Abde Ezzazouli got the ball rolling on 19 minutes, after a mix up in the Osasuna defence, and Cucho Hernandez wrapped the result up before the break.
