LAFC beat Toronto FC 2-0 in their final home match of the 2025 MLS Regular Season.
Although star duo Son Heung-min and Denis Bouanga were away on international duty, LAFC were simply too good for their lowly Eastern Conference opponents.
Scorers: Ebobisse 13', Amaya 69'
LAFC opened the scoring inside 15 minutes as Jeremy Ebobisse pounced on a mistake from Alonso Coello which left him through on goal. Ebobisse finished calmly past TFC goalkeeper Sean Johnson to give his side an early lead.
LAFC were awarded penalty in the second-half after David Martínez was brought down in the box by Kosi Thompson. However, Martínez's penalty was denied by a strong left-handed save from Johnson.
Eventually, LAFC doubled their advantage as substitute Frankie Amaya's low finish beat Johnson at the near post.
At full-time, LAFC moved within touching distance of the top of the Western Conference.
With two matches remaining, Steve Cherundolo's side are now just one point behind the conference leaders thanks to a run of six straight victories.
Toronto FC, on the other hand, finally ended their run of eight consecutive draws, however they are still winless in 11 matches.
