Konrad Laimer has been one of FC Bayern’s most consistent players this season. The Austrian can be deployed flexibly, is a strong runner, tough in tackles and, above all, is almost always available. So it’s no wonder that his name keeps popping up on the international transfer carousel
Most recently, Real Madrid have even been brought into the picture. The background to this is the contract situation in Munich, which is currently on ice. Talks about an extension have paused – and that is exactly what arouses desire. As soon as there is a standstill, speculation arises
In the BILD podcast Bayern Insider, the sporting future of the ÖFB kicker was discussed. According to BILD head of soccer Christian Falk, Laimer is not considering leaving Bayern
He acknowledged that the fact that „talks are currently on ice“ naturally arouses desire – „even among those who are making transfer rumors.“ But he followed up specifically and emphasized: „No, Real Madrid has not knocked.“

However, the contract situation itself is interesting. In the podcast, Falk reports on a personal conversation with Laimer in which he explained: „Yes, it’s true. We’re not talking at the moment.“ At the same time, however, the midfielder is „relaxed“ and „not going crazy“
Importantly, his contract does not expire this summer, but in 2027. Nevertheless, Falk urged caution and reminded us of the typical dynamics in the modern transfer business. One should not get into an „Upamecano situation“ – in other words, wait too long and open up additional options for the player
BILD reporter Heiko Niedderer also emphasized Laimer’s sporting value. For him, the Austrian is „very, very valuable“ and „a little underrated“ because he lacks the glamour factor. At the same time, he pointed out a central point in the salary structure: „It’s always about the relationship in the dressing room, about appreciation.“
According to the report, Laimer currently earns between five and eight million euros – significantly less than other regular players. It is understandable that a top performer would at least take a closer look at such differences.
