Lamine Camara was back in training for AS Monaco on Friday, ahead of Saturday’s trip to face Le Havre AC. The Senegal international, fresh from winning the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), is available to feature, unlike his international and club teammate, Krépin Diatta, who missed the final against Morocco due to illness.
Speaking at a press conference attended by Get French Football News, Sébastien Pocognoli confirmed that Camara returned on Thursday and is therefore in contention to face Le Havre. The same does not go for Diatta, who is a confirmed absence. Pocognoli added that it is hoped that Diatta can train next week and return to face Stade Rennais. The full-back is not in Monaco’s UCL squad and so is ineligible to face Juventus, even if he is fit for Wednesday’s game.
Pocognoli confirmed that the club will continue to tread carefully and manage the minutes of Ansu Fati, Vanderson, and Eric Dier, all of whom have recently returned from injury.
