In their bid to reinforce their attack for the upcoming season, FC Barcelona seem to have made their decision about their preferred candidate, who is none other than the Athletic Club forward Nico Williams.

Some days ago, the Blaugranes were reported to have reached a verbal personal agreement with the player, which meant they now only needed to pay his release clause to incorporate him into their team.

However, some recent reports suggest that the negotiations between the player and the Catalan club have stalled, mainly because the winger wants more guarantees about his registration, something that has displeased Barcelona. Still, work is being done on this operation.

The Blaugrana star Lamine Yamal, who is already a close friend of the Basque winger, is one of the most ardent supporters of Nico’s arrival at the Catalan club.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the young winger once again showed his support for Nico’s signing by sharing a video on his social media of him dancing in celebration with Nico after his goal in the UEFA Nations League semi-final tie between Spain and France.

This is not the first time Yamal has taken to social media to put his weight behind Nico’s signing. After the meeting between Deco and the Athletic Club winger’s agent, Felix Tainta, the Barcelona star had shared another picture of Nico Williams celebrating a goal with the Spanish national team.

These social media posts once again show the good relationship the two players have with each other, and there is every reason to believe this relationship will also benefit the team when Nico Williams joins the Blaugrana club.

But for now, everything depends on the 22-year-old forward to complete his move and for Barcelona to pay his release clause and get him registered with La Liga for the next season.
