A head-turning statistic, comparing the production of Barcelona star Lamine Yamal and Real Madrid counterpart Rodrygo, has this weekend come to the fore online.

This comes amid confirmation that the former easily surpassed Rodrygo’s best season production-wise in La Liga in 2024/25.

Wide-man Lamine is of course fresh off a spectacular campaign in Barcelona’s colours.

From his berth on the right flank, the 17-year-old terrorised opposing backlines, courtesy of a unique combination of touch, dribbling, vision and flair.

In La Liga alone, Lamine racked up 22 direct goal contributions, enough for a place in the Team of the Season.

And as alluded to above, in the process, Barca’s wing wizard comfortably bested the standout league campaign on the part of Real Madrid attacker Rodrygo.

As per StatMuse, Lamine’s haul of 22 goals and assists is five more than Rodrygo racked up in his most productive term in La Liga.
