Lamine Yamal suffered an apparent injury while converting a penalty to put Barça 1-0 up against Celta. He went to ground immediately and team-mates signalled for a change.

As he was being treated, the match was paused for a separate emergency, with medical staff from Barça and Celta running towards the Lateral stand after fans alerted them to a supporter who had fallen ill, according to El Periódico Mediterráneo.

The incident happened in the central aisle aligned with the halfway line and the referee stopped play while the spectator received attention. After treatment, Lamine Yamal headed for the dressing room. With the game halted, Roony Bardghji warmed up on the touchline, ready to come on.

Lamine Yamal appears to have a muscular problem. His left leg seemed to overextend as he struck the penalty and he clutched the back of his leg.

It was Barça’s second injury of the first half. João Cancelo had already been forced off on 23 minutes, with Alejandro Balde replacing him.
