Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has on Wednesday etched his name ever further into the history books of European football.
This comes owing to his starting berth for Barcelona against Inter Milan.
Hansi Flick’s Blaugrana are of course primed to return to action in short order, welcoming Italian champions Inter to Catalunya’s capital for a Champions League semi-final first-leg clash.
Lamine, for his part, was as expected included in the hosts’ starting XI for the clash, set to take to the pitch in his customary berth on the right flank.
And as alluded to above, in the process, the Spanish international has made history once more.
As revealed by statisticians Opta:
‘At the age of 17 years and 291 days, Lamine Yamal will become only the second under-18 player in Champions League history to start a semi-final after Julian Draxler (17 years, 226 days) for Schalke 04 at Old Trafford in May 2011.’
