Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef has explained why Nkanyiso Shinga and Ethan Chislett are yet to make the matchday squad this season.
The duo was lured from abroad, with the defender joining from Liga Portugal side Alverca while the playmaker signed after his exit at English League One outfit Port Vale.
With seven games into the 2025/26 campaign, the two players are yet to make their debut for the club despite being part of the pre-season camp in the Netherlands.
Now, the Chiefs second in command has clarified the reason behind their prolonged omission from the matchday squads.
“With Shinga and Ethan, both of them are with us. They do all the training, and we as coaches know when the right time for us will be to introduce them to the team,” said Ben Youssef.
“They keep working, they have very good attitude and good performances in training, but we are waiting until the best moment to introduce them to the team.
Meanwhile, the Soweto giants will host Angolan side Kabuscorp SCP in a bid to overturn a one-goal deficit in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary round on Saturday.
