Following a tragic road accident on the R21 that left Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou and five technical team members injured on Sunday night, a new update has emerged.
The incident happened as the Buccaneers were en route to Johannesburg, fresh from their commanding 3-0 victory over Chippa United in the Betway Premiership.
According to the club statement, the Bucs mentor and his staff disembarked from the team bus upon encountering a collision between two vehicles in an effort to assist those involved.
While attending the scene, an on-rushing Nissan NP200 collided with the two stationary vehicles, causing serious injuries to the group.
As a result, Ouaddou and the Bucs backroom staff members were rushed to the nearest hospital to receive medical care.
Now, French media outlet L’Équipe has reported that the Moroccan tactician has been discharged from the hospital after reportedly suffering a broken elbow and shoulder pain.
The injury status of the other technical team members remains unclear at this stage, with Pirates expected to provide an update on their recovery.
