The Argentine forward sustained an injury during Wednesday’s meeting with the Catalans, a game that Lewandowski missed due to a muscle injury.

Barcelona coach Flick said on Friday that Lewandowski’s progress is better than what the club expected when the striker got injured nearly two weeks ago.

Flick admitted that Lewandowski could return in time for Tuesday’s decider at the Stadio Meazza in Milan.

On the other hand, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi didn’t talk to the media on the eve of a Serie A match against Hellas Verona, but the Nerazzurri provided an injury update in the late afternoon saying that Lautaro had suffered an elongation of the flexor muscles in his left thigh and that his condition would be monitored day by day.

Multiple sources in Italy, including Corriere della Sera, claim that Lautaro will do all he can to recover in time and be available, at least from the bench, in Tuesday’s game against Barcelona.

Sky and Corriere, however, warn that Lautaro’s injury usually takes one to two weeks to recover. This means that in the best-case scenario, El Toro would sit on the bench against the Catalans on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Inter will host Hellas Verona at San Siro on Saturday night. Inzaghi is expected to rest Marcus Thuram and start Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa up front.

Correa won’t be available against Barcelona next week as he’s not part of Inter’s UEFA list.

Lautaro is Inter’s best scorer this season, having netted 21 goals in 47 matches across all competitions.
