Lazio and Atalanta have emerged victorious in two of the busiest January frays, as the Biancocelesti will snap up Reda Belahyane from Hellas Verona, while La Dea will sign Stefan Posch from Bologna.
Per Sky, the capital club will spend €13M for the talented midfielder. He had been chased by Milan and a few foreign clubs like Olympique Marseille and Rennes. They’ll bring him in on loan with an obligation to buy. They accelerated after missing out on Cesare Casadei and picked him over Jacopo Fazzini. They’ll also add Oliver Provstgaard from Vejle for €4M to shore up their defensive depth.
Like Lazio did for Belahyane, Atalanta also beat out multiple outfits for Posch. Como had made waves, but the Nerazzurri accelerated on Sunday. Hoffenheim were in the race up until the final corner, Tuttomercatoweb reports.
The Orobici and the Felsinei agreed to a €1M season-long loan with a €7M option to buy. La Dea needed another defender as Odilon Kossounou and Giorgio Scalvini will miss months due to a thigh and shoulder injury respectively. The Austrian ceded his starting job to Emil Holm in recent months. Plus, the Rossoblù will sign another right-back, Davide Calabria from Milan, and Lorenzo De Silvestri is still going strong.
Two excellent fits, as the Biancocelesti needed somebody who could rotate with Nicolò Rovella and Matteo Guendouzi, while Fazzini is more of a no.10. He’s been a revelation in a tough spot this campaign. The former should work very well as a ‘braccetto.’ Gian Piero Gasperini should find a way to revive him and take advantage of his knack for scoring after six paltry months.
