Alessio Romagnoli Wants Lazio Exit

The former AC Milan captain is keen to leave the Italian capital side in the next 24 hours, as his rapport with Lazio president Claudio Lotito and the rest of the hierarchy has vastly deteriorated. Romagnoli has refused to train in recent days, and he wasn’t called up for Friday’s Serie A match against Genoa. The defender’s fate could be determined by Saturday, when the transfer market window closes. However, the Aquile don’t want to be caught off guard, so they’re already anticipating any late twists by trying to recruit a replacement.

Lazio & Union Berlin Finalizing Diogo Leite Deal

According to Italian journalists Damiano Er Faina, Lazio have made significant progress in their quest to sign Leite.

Sky Sport Italia correspondent Gianluca Di Marzio adds that the Biancocelesti are close to striking a deal with Union Berlin, who have agreed to release the player for €2.5 million, as his contract will expire in June. While the two clubs are expected to close the deal on Friday, Lazio still have to reach an accord with the Portuguese centre-back on personal terms.

For his part, Italian journalist Afredo Pedullà believes Lazio already have an agreement with the Bundesliga club for a €3.5 million transfer fee, while the player has been offered a three-year contract. As for Romagnoli, a decisive meeting will take place between the club directors and his entourage after Friday’s game against Genoa.

Leite’s Background & Stats

Leite is a native of Porto, who naturally started his career at his hometown club. The Dragao sold him to the German capital side in the summer of 2023 for €7 million. The left-footed defender made 17 appearances across all competitions, contributing with an assist.
