Lazio have shed light on the condition of Gustav Isaksen, who suffered an injury during Sunday’s draw against Bologna.
The 24-year-old scored the opener for the Biancocelesti in the 38th minute as he latched onto the rebound, but it was neutralized by his Danish compatriot, Jens Odgaard, who scored the equalizer two minutes later. However, the winger was nowhere to be seen after the interval, as Matteo Cancellieri took his place on the pitch.
After the match, Maurizio Sarri revealed that Isaksen suffered a knock, albeit not a serious one. The confirmation has now arrived through a note published on the official Lazio website, revealing that the Dane has picked up a low-grade lesion.
This afternoon, following a consultation between the medical staff—Prof. Ivo Pulcini, Prof. Fabio Rodia, and the club doctor, Dr. Italo Leo—we announce that Gustav Isaksen, after undergoing instrumental tests at the Villa Mafalda Clinic, has been diagnosed with a low-grade lesion affecting his left adductor. The athlete has already begun his rehabilitation; his condition will be reevaluated in the coming days.
The official statement didn’t offer an estimated timetable for the recovery process, but La Lazio Siamo Noi believes the Denmark international will be out of action for approximately 20 days. Luckily for Sarri, his other right winger, Matteo Cancellieri, has recently returned to action, so the manager has been spared a selection dilemma.
