Lazio have reportedly reached an agreement with the entourage of Bayern Munich youngster Jonthan Asp Jensen.
The Biancocelesti are working on selling some of their high-earning veterans, like Alessio Romagnoli and Ivan Provedel, and recruiting cost-efficient up-and-coming players, and chief among them is Asp Jensen, a 20-year-old attacking midfielder from Bayern Munich.
The young Dane began his career in his home country, developing his game at various academies, before signing for the Bavarian giants in 2022. He represented the club’s U17, U19 and second teams, and spent this season on loan at Grasshoppers. Asp Jensen had an eye-opening campaign at the Swiss top-flight club, contributing with nine goals and six assists across all competitions.
According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, Lazio have struck an agreement with the youngster on personal terms. It should be noted that Asp Jensen has the same representatives as his compatriots Gustav Isaksen and Oliver Provstgaard, so Lazio’s sporting director, Angelo Fabiani, was already familiar with his entourage, which must have facilitated the negotiations.
The next step for the Aquile is to find an accord with Bayern Munich, who insist on adding a significant sell-on fee on the player’s future resale. On the other hand, Lazio would like to avoid another case similar to Mario Gila’s, as Real Madrid’s 50% sell-on clause is complicating the Italian club’s plans to sell the Spanish defender this summer.
Therefore, it remains to be seen whether Lazio and Bayern will be able to find a satisfactory solution for both parties.
