Sassuolo star Andrea Pinamonti has become the latest centre-forward to be linked with a move to Lazio this summer.

Lazio Desperately Need a New Striker

Scoring goals was a major problem for the Italian capital club last season. Taty Castellanos was sold to West Ham United in the middle of the campaign and was replaced by Petar Ratkov, who has yet to open his account for the club. Daniel Maldini didn’t fare much better as a false 9, so he was sent back to Atalanta at the end of his loan spell.

Boulaye Dia has recently been bought from Salernitana for €11 million due to an obligation to buy. Still, Lazio are open to selling the Senegalese, who was anything but prolific in the last two seasons. Therefore, buying a new striker is a top priority for the club this summer.

Andrea Pinamonti Joins Roberto Piccoli on Lazio Shortlist

In recent days, Fiorentina’s Roberto Piccoli emerged as a potential solution. Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio confirms Lazio’s interest in the Bergamo native, while revealing Pinamonti as an alternative target.

As the Sky Sport Italia correspondent explains, Lazio can only afford Piccoli on an initial loan deal (since he cost Fiorentina €25 million last summer). On the other hand, Pinamonti could be available for a smaller transfer fee. Transfermarkt estimates his value at €15 million, but Sassuolo could be willing to grant a discount, as the 27-year-old’s contract is set to expire next year.

Pinamonti’s Career Path & Sassuolo Stats

Pinamonti is a youth product of Chievo Verona and Inter Milan who had temporary spells at Frosinone, Genoa, and Empoli, before joining Sassuolo in 2022. Following the Neroverdi’s relegation, he spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Genoa, before returning to the Mapei Stadium last summer when the Emilian club returned to the top flight.

The Italian attacker scored 26 goals and provided seven assists in his 109 appearances for Sassuolo. In November 2022, he made his debut with the senior Italian national team, but it remains his solitary cap for the Azzurri so far.
