Sky Sport Italia reports that Lazio have stepped up their bid to sign Atalanta attacker Daniel Maldini, aiming to close a deal quickly and fend off rival interest.
Despite the Alessio Romagnoli saga, sporting director Angelo Fabiani is working on parallel targets. The club want a left winger in before the end of January, with Mattia Zaccagni the first choice and a deputy expected even if Maurizio Sarri said it is not a January priority.
Like his father Paolo, the 24-year-old came through at AC Milan. He had loans at Spezia and Empoli, then joined Monza in January 2024, impressing at the U-Power Stadium and breaking into Luciano Spalletti’s Italy as a regular starter.
Atalanta moved for him in January 2025, paying €13 million. Managerial changes and fierce competition have limited his opportunities.
This season he has made 11 appearances, mostly from the bench, and registered one assist. He is primarily an attacking midfielder, but is comfortable on the left wing.
