Lazio ‘tracking’ Omar Traore as Leite negotiations continue | OneFootball

Lazio are tracking Heidenheim right-back Omar Traore, 28, as they plan a defensive revamp, Sky Sport Germany reports. The player’s contract expires at the end of the season.

The club have prioritised free transfers. Alfonso Pedraza has signed a pre-contract from Villarreal, and negotiations with Diogo Leite of Union Berlin are ongoing.

Traore, a German of Togolese descent from Osnabrück, joined Heidenheim in January after spells in the lower leagues. He quickly became a regular.

He has made 24 Bundesliga appearances this term and supplied two assists. He is not expected to agree fresh terms, so he could leave as a free agent.

Valencia are also interested, while Union Berlin would keep him in the Bundesliga with a new deal on the table.

On the right at Lazio, Elseid Hysaj will depart when his contract lapses. Adam Marusic has extended, and Manuel Lazzari’s future is undecided.
