Lazio are closing in on an agreement with Chelsea for the transfer of Cesare Casadei, but still have a few hurdles to overcome.
According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, the Biancocelesti have placed €13 million on the table, while the Blues are still holding out for €15. Therefore, Claudio Lotito and Angelo Fabiani must find a way to bridge the gap. One of the solutions they’re seeking is to add the missing €2m to the deal in the form of various bonuses.
For his part, the 22-year-old would be keen to join the Italian capital side, preferring this destination over other solutions like Torino who remain on the player’s trail and are looking to pounce on any given opportunities between now and the end of the January transfer session.
In the meantime, Lazio continue to track other possibilities, mainly Hellas Verona’s Reda Belahyane and Empoli’s Jacopo Fazzini, while Udinese’s Martin Payero remains in the background. Nevertheless, the Aquile still consider Casadei as their primary option.
The Italy U21 starlet was considered among the most promising players in his generation, especially during his time at Inter Milan’s Primavera. However, he has yet to make a single Premier League appearance this season under the guidance of his compatriot Enzo Maresca, with his six outings ensuing either in the Conference League or the Carabao Cup.
