According to Nosso Palestra, Chinese electric vehicle company Leapmotor is set to become Palmeiras’ new sponsor following Fictor’s exit, with final terms agreed this week and an official announcement being prepared.

The brand’s first appearance is expected against Grêmio on 2 April at Arena Barueri.

The agreement covers back-of-shirt branding for the men’s, women’s and academy teams, worth around R$ 20 million in fixed fees plus variable bonuses per season on a two-year contract.

The main sponsorship slot on the academy kit is not included and will be sold separately by Palmeiras, differing from the Fictor arrangement.

Leapmotor has only recently entered the Brazilian market and is targeting Palmeiras’ reach, boosted by recent titles across all levels, to drive awareness and sales.

With BYD now sponsoring Corinthians and seeking Morumbi naming rights, Leapmotor views football as a necessary space to compete in a fast-growing sector.

The company has already moved into South American football by sponsoring Universidad Católica in Chile and aims to replicate that impact with Palmeiras.

Founded in 2015 and based in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, Leapmotor was created by electrical engineer Zhu Jiangming, who has more than 30 years’ technical experience.

In Brazil, the brand launched in November 2025 and is part of Stellantis, the automotive group that includes Fiat, Jeep, Ram, Citroën and Peugeot.
