Daniel Farke struck an upbeat note on Leeds United’s fitness before Brentford visit Elland Road on Saturday night, where victory would move the hosts six points clear of the drop for the evening. Gabriel Gudmundsson is ruled out, while there is encouragement over Noah Okafor.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Okafor has been absent since mid-February and returned to training last week before a minor setback kept him out against Crystal Palace. Farke’s latest briefing was more positive.
Brentford sustained a possible new concern during Monday’s draw with Wolves. Their confirmed absentees are significant, with Fabio Carvalho out for the season after anterior cruciate ligament surgery in November, and Antoni Milambo also out for the season following the same operation that month.
Josh Dasilva continues his comeback from ACL surgery and two subsequent procedures late last season. He has rejoined some first-team training this month but is being carefully managed. Rico Henry will miss numerous weeks with a hamstring problem and is not expected back soon.
Aaron Hickey suffered a hamstring injury against Brighton last month and is expected to be out until after the international break. Vitaly Janelt is also sidelined until after the break after suffering a metatarsal injury in the Brighton game.
