Leeds resume their survival fight on Friday at Elland Road against already relegated Burnley, with four out, four doubts and two players back. A win would almost certainly secure safety, with Leeds 15th and six points clear with four to play.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Burnley’s relegation was sealed by Wednesday’s 1-0 home defeat to Manchester City, Erling Haaland scoring. Leeds lost 1-0 to Chelsea in Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.
Anton Stach is back after ankle ligament damage suffered in the FA Cup quarter-final at West Ham. He made the bench and impressed after coming on at half-time against Chelsea. Daniel Farke said he is only ready for 45 minutes for now.
Sebastiaan Bornauw is also back, having rolled his ankle in the Bournemouth warm-up last week. He was on the bench at Wembley as an unused substitute.
Ilia Gruev is out for the season with a meniscus knee injury sustained in training before the Bournemouth match.
For Burnley, Josh Cullen is out after anterior cruciate ligament surgery on a December injury against Everton, with Scott Parker indicating about nine months out. Jordan Beyer remains sidelined after a meniscus injury against Luton in October 2023 and a hamstring setback last summer. Connor Roberts is unavailable with an Achilles issue and has yet to feature this season.
