Leeds United are expected to revisit a move for Harry Wilson following his Fulham exit, with a strong Welsh presence at Elland Road viewed as a possible advantage.
Sky Sports reports that Leeds are 'working' on a potential deal and expect competition. The 29-year-old is likely to attract Premier League suitors higher up the table with greater spending power.
What rivals cannot match is the cluster of Wales connections in Daniel Farke’s squad, with Karl Darlow, Joe Rodon, Ethan Ampadu and Daniel James all key figures. “It’s always a factor having the other Welsh players there,” the former Arsenal and Leicester City striker told BestBesttingSites. “You speak to your teammates when you’re away on international duty.”
“You always say, ‘what’s it like at your place? Good atmosphere? What’s the gaffer like, what’s training like?’ So Harry Wilson would have had those chats, I’m sure.”
Leeds failed with a deadline-day move for Wilson last year, when he had 12 months left on his Fulham deal. During June international duty, Ampadu suggested he was trying to sell Leeds to Wales teammates.
“To go from Fulham to Leeds, I mean on paper it’s not a step up,” Smith added. “I think he might have other offers because he’s a very good player, Harry Wilson, who can do spectacular things. But the fact his international teammates are there doesn’t hurt at all.”
