Noah Okafor has stepped up his recovery with ball work in training after a hamstring strain, raising hope he could make Leeds United’s squad for Sunday’s trip to Crystal Palace.

The winger has been out for nearly a month since pulling up after a short sprint against Birmingham City in the FA Cup fourth round. The initial estimate was two to four weeks, and Sunday marks a month since St Andrew’s. The player said in a post simply, ‘Back’.

Okafor had scored two in as many games before his setback. There was also a positive note on Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has trained this week after missing the win over Norwich City with minor knee complaints, and he had been due to rest anyway.

Should Sebastiaan Bornauw have overcome illness and there be no fresh issues, Daniel Farke could have every senior squad member available for selection for the first time in a very long time.

The manager is due to provide a team-news update in his pre-Crystal Palace press conference later today.

United aim to bounce back from successive home defeats, their first such run since April 2024, while chasing a first away win in the competition since September.
