Leeds United are pursuing Germany midfielder Julian Brandt, who will become a free agent on 30 June after seven years at Borussia Dortmund. According to Leeds Live, the 30-year-old is firmly on their radar ahead of his exit.

Brandt is expected to be among the standout free options this summer, and Leeds have explored a deal that could prove a major coup if agreed. The 43-cap international helped Dortmund finish second last season, scoring seven goals and supplying four assists in 29 league games.

A natural number 10, he has played more than 200 times across both flanks, more often on the left, but operated behind striker Serhou Guirassy throughout the past campaign. A new playmaker has been a key Leeds target, with Harry Wilson already signed on Wednesday for the right wing.

With 82 Champions League appearances and two World Cups behind him, Brandt would be a statement addition, though his track record means strong competition. Roma, Lazio and Galatasaray have been linked, while working with fellow German Daniel Farke and a first taste of English football could yet sway him.

Farke has long sought another versatile number 10 to complement Brenden Aaronson, stressing last August that he wants hard-working wide players who can also operate centrally. Aaronson has one year left on his deal, and with Brandt soon out of contract, he could be the timely solution Farke desires.
