Leeds United striker Harry Gray missed Rotherham United’s 5-0 defeat at Peterborough United with what is thought to be a slight hamstring issue, in what proved to be Matt Hamshaw’s final match in charge.

The club said in a statement that Hamshaw had been relieved of his duties with immediate effect, citing their position six points from safety in League One, and that the process to appoint a new first-team manager is under way.

Gray, 17, joined the Millers on loan in January for the second half of the 2025/26 season and has made 12 appearances, clocking more than 1,000 minutes of senior football.

He has scored two goals and the arrangement was designed to secure regular game time for the teenager at the League One strugglers.

It has not been confirmed whether Gray will continue his rehabilitation with Rotherham or return to Thorp Arch.
