Leeds negotiating deal to sign James Trafford | OneFootball

Leeds United are in talks to sign Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford according to reports.

The shot-stopper came through the City academy before eventually leaving to join Burnley on a permanent deal in the summer of 2023. Just two seasons later, City agreed to re-sign Trafford but then also brought in Gigi Donnarumma meaning that the England international made just four Premier League appearances last season.

Now Trafford may be getting regular first team football at Elland Road with David Ornstein of The Athletic reporting that Leeds are negotiating a deal for the 23-year-old who still has four years left on his City contract.

Trafford had strongly been linked with a move to Newcastle United both last year and this summer but the player is reportedly leaning towards a move to West Yorkshire.

The Whites have already had two goalkeeping departures with Illan Meslier joining the setup at Arsenal while Karl Darlow will be the back up for Manchester United.
