Leeds United have asked supporters to remain in their seats after today’s final home fixture against Brighton at Elland Road, with a post-match thank-you planned on the pitch.
The club said in a statement that, after the full-time whistle, players will briefly return to the dressing room before being introduced back onto the pitch one by one, joined by their families, for a lap of appreciation.
The match kicks off at 3pm and is the last at Elland Road this Premier League campaign, with United’s top-flight status already assured.
Safety was confirmed when Arsenal won 1-0 at West Ham last Sunday, securing survival with three matches remaining.
The occasion follows Monday night’s 1-1 draw at Tottenham Hotspur, and the club also thanked those who have followed the team home and away throughout the season, noting the format mirrors last season’s post-Bristol City celebrations.
