Leeds United confirm Max Wöber exit after mutual contract termination | OneFootball

Leeds United have confirmed Max Wöber has left the club after his contract was terminated by mutual consent. The club said in a statement that the parties agreed to end his deal.

Wöber joined from RB Salzburg in January 2023 in a £10m move, signing a four-and-a-half-year contract due to run until next summer, but it has been cut short, allowing him to depart as a free agent.

He made 28 first-team appearances in all competitions during his three-and-a-half years under contract. Two of those years were spent on loan, starting with a move to Borussia Monchengladbach in 2023 after activating a relegation release clause.

He returned for the Championship title-winning 2024/25 season but featured only eight league times. A loan to Werder Bremen last term was derailed by a serious knee injury on debut, limiting him to three outings.

He is on the verge of joining Bundesliga side Schalke after medical tests.
