Leeds United will spend their 2026 pre-season on the United States east coast, making their first trip across the Atlantic in 29 years. Three friendlies are set across nine days against Wrexham, Sunderland and Liverpool.
According to Leeds Live, they face Wrexham on July 25 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, capacity 65,000. Sunderland follow on July 30 at New Jersey’s Sports Illustrated Stadium, capacity 25,000, where the New York Red Bulls play, before Liverpool at Chicago’s Soldier Field on August 2, capacity 61,500. Kick-off times are yet to be confirmed.
Leeds will base training camps in New Jersey and New York, with fan activities planned throughout the tour. Tickets go on sale next Tuesday, March 10, from 4pm.
Chief business officer Morrie Eisenberg said the club are pleased to visit the US for three high-quality matches at major venues. He called it a chance to grow Leeds’ global presence, work with commercial partners and give the first team top-class facilities to prepare for the new season, adding that they look forward to seeing travelling supporters.
Leeds head to the US the week after the World Cup final, which is due to be staged at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Should they remain in the Premier League, the season will start on August 22, 20 days after their final friendly. If in the Championship, the campaign begins from the weekend of August 15.
It has not yet been confirmed whether a summer friendly will be held at Elland Road. Villarreal visited last year, with Valencia coming in the summer of 2024.
