Leeds United were without eight first-team players for the weekend's opening pre-season friendly against Wrexham, managed by Phil Parkinson, with four of the absences injury-related.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Dominic Calvert-Lewin suffered a small pre-season setback that halted his individual programme. He is now training alone on camp and building towards a return to team training and matches.

Jaka Bijol missed out after taking a knock to his knee. Sebastiaan Bornauw was said to have a minor issue, so he was not risked.

Ilia Gruev's 2025-26 campaign ended early with a meniscus knee injury. He was expected to be back for pre-season and is in the USA tour group, although his comeback could take time.

Noah Okafor was granted an extended break after Switzerland reached the World Cup quarter-final, so he was not named in the travelling squad. Brenden Aaronson was listed to travel, with World Cup players set to join later, and is expected to feature later in the tour.
