Shortly after the break Dominic Calvert-Lewin turned in Gruev’s cross-cum-shot with his chest to settle the contest. Lorenzo Lucca pulled one back late on for the visitors.

Gruev led the marks with eight. Darlow, Justin, Bogle, Ampadu, Gudmundsson, Okafor and Calvert-Lewin scored seven, while Rodon, Struijk and Aaronson were given six. Dan James and Sean Longstaff received six from the bench.

The ratings highlighted Darlow’s key save at 0-0 and Calvert-Lewin thumping a header against the bar before scoring. Dan James delivered a tempting cross after coming on, while Bogle was withdrawn for Bornauw in stoppage time. Okafor later made way for Longstaff and Aaronson for the returning James.
