Lukas Nmecha struck in stoppage time to seal Leeds United’s deserved 1-0 victory over Fulham at Elland Road, redeeming a torrid cameo with a decisive finish. Ethan Ampadu provided the assist and Karl Darlow preserved the clean sheet.
Leeds carved the better first-half openings, notably when Brenden Aaronson lifted a bouncing ball over after running through. Dominic Calvert-Lewin later flashed into the side netting after a cynical Harry Wilson foul raised the temperature, and misfiring set-pieces blunted pressure until the late winner. According to Leeds Live, these were the player ratings.
Darlow seven, calm with the ball despite one risky miskick. Jayden Bogle seven, intelligent in advanced areas. James Justin eight, Joe Rodon eight and Pascal Strujik eight formed a secure core, while Gabriel Gudmundsson eight repeatedly tidied up but squandered a left-side opening.
Ilia Gruev six, diligent but set-pieces failed to land. Ampadu eight anchored play assuredly. Aaronson eight stayed positive after his big miss, Calvert-Lewin seven battled, went close, yet strayed offside too often, and Noah Okafor six was erratic despite one neat pass to Gudmundsson.
From the bench, Wilfried Gnonto six showed tidy touches but shot needlessly. Lukas Nmecha, introduced on 81 minutes for Bogle, was unrated yet poached the winner. Ao Tanaka and Sebastiaan Bornauw arrived too late for grades.
Manager Daniel Farke eight made a bold goalkeeping call that paid off and resisted early changes with Leeds on top, a balance that proved right.
