Leeds United reached the FA Cup quarter-finals for the first time in 23 years with a 3-0 win over in-form Championship visitors Norwich City at Elland Road. According to Leeds Live, the player ratings reflected a largely routine evening.

Wilfried Gnonto had a 20th-minute finish ruled out for handball before Sean Longstaff broke the deadlock with a deft strike on the turn from Gabriel Gudmundsson’s pass. Later in the half Gudmundsson claimed his first Leeds goal. Joel Piroe clipped the bar and then made it three.

Longstaff was the standout on an eight, with Gudmundsson and Piroe close behind. Keeper Lucas Perri was scarcely tested. Sebastiaan Bornauw recovered from an early slip but went off at half-time, while Jaka Bijol stayed composed throughout.

Daniel James stretched Norwich and created a fine opening for Lukas Nmecha that went begging. Ethan Ampadu grafted in midfield, Ao Tanaka struggled to impose himself, and Gnonto could not bury a volley after his earlier infringement.

Nmecha also had a first-half effort disallowed for handball and missed further chances, leaving him on a four. From the bench, James Justin replaced Bornauw at the interval, then on 70 minutes Jayden Bogle, Pascal Struijk and Anton Stach entered, Stach tidy in possession. Sam Byram featured in the 87th minute.

Manager Daniel Farke made nine changes, served a one-game touchline ban from the stands and relayed instructions by phone. A comfortable victory left his selection calls vindicated.
