Ao Tanaka partners captain Ethan Ampadu in midfield for a fifth straight Premier League match.

With Gabriel Gudmundsson still out with a hamstring problem, James Justin continues at left wing-back. James appears set to operate on the right in place of Jayden Bogle, who is out of the squad with a hamstring issue.

Pascal Struijk has overcome a hip concern after missing Thursday’s training and starts in the back three with Jaka Bijol, with Joe Rodon on the right of the trio. They shield Karl Darlow, who won April’s save of the month for a point-blank stop from Ladislav Krejci in the 3-0 win over Wolves.

Academy left-back Jayden Lienou makes the matchday squad for the first time, joined by fellow youngster Rhys Chadwick. January loanee Facundo Buonanotte misses out with a hamstring injury.

Starting XI: Darlow in goal, a back three of Rodon, Bijol and Struijk, wing-backs James and Justin, Ampadu and Tanaka in midfield, Stach and Aaronson behind Calvert-Lewin. Bench: Perri, Byram, Lienou, Bornauw, Longstaff, Chadwick, Gnonto, Piroe, Nmecha.
