Leeds United attacker Harry Gray is closing in on a season-long loan to Sheffield Wednesday in League One. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the deal between the clubs is close and the youngster is on board.
Gray sampled regular senior football last term at League One strugglers Rotherham United, making 20 appearances and scoring three. He could not prevent relegation amid managerial change and injuries across the squad.
Leeds had always planned another loan for 2026/27 and opted again for League One, with Huddersfield Town also keen. Wednesday have now won that race, with final details nearing agreement.
Wednesday are starting a new era under fresh ownership despite dropping from the Championship. The move would reunite Gray with former Leeds captain Liam Cooper, who has signed a new deal at Hillsborough after a short-term stint yielded 14 outings last season.
He would join Henrik Pedersen’s squad, already back in training, to build experience and contribute to an expected promotion bid.
Meanwhile, his brother Archie, another Thorp Arch graduate, is attracting interest from Newcastle United, with Tottenham Hotspur said to have rejected an initial offer. Should he move this summer there will be no windfall for Leeds, the report said, because there was no sell-on clause in his move to north London.
