Leeds United remain in the hunt for James Trafford and await a decision from Champions League veteran Julian Brandt, with departures progressing.
Leeds have been hopeful of striking a deal with Manchester City for the 23-year-old if an Etihad exit could be agreed after the World Cup. He is currently on his FIFA-mandated three-week break following England’s tournament involvement. David Ornstein reports that Trafford’s preference appears to be Leeds, with Newcastle no longer considering him despite prior long-term interest.
Other names, including Japan international Zion Suzuki, have surfaced this summer, but Leeds were not in active pursuit and waited on the Trafford possibility. A deal with Manchester City has not yet been agreed, though the clubs have held talks.
Leeds are hopeful Brandt will decide on his future soon. His father Jurgen visited Thorp Arch for talks last week, and the German has been training at Bayer Leverkusen’s facilities while weighing up his options.
Valencia want Largie Ramazani back in LaLiga after last season’s loan. Jack Harrison looks likely to join New England Revolution, with an undisclosed fee expected, and removing his wages would provide a financial boost.
Daniel Farke’s squad have arrived in the US and begun work at Red Bull’s new state-of-the-art facility in New Jersey ahead of this weekend’s game against Wrexham.
