Leeds United will keep tabs on Premier League rivals as Ipswich Town could suffer an early-summer setback if Kieran McKenna departs. The Whites, 14th last season, expect another survival fight under Daniel Farke.

TalkSPORT reports that Fulham are eyeing McKenna as a top target, with Marco Silva looking set to join Benfica. Ipswich want to keep their manager, but an £8m release clause is said to exist and Fulham are exploring it. If triggered, it would allow him to leave Portman Road.

Unlike last year, Leeds are not expected to start among relegation favourites. That tag will fall on newly promoted Coventry City, Ipswich and Hull City, heightening the impact of any departure.

McKenna has been in charge at Ipswich since 2021, when they were in League One. His tenure delivered promotion to the Championship, then a top-two finish ahead of Farke’s Leeds in 2023/24, followed by immediate relegation in 2024/25.

Despite being widely tipped for a top-flight role after that relegation, he stayed at Portman Road. After a slow start, Ipswich went up again, losing just one of their final 15 matches.

His exit now would be a significant blow for Ipswich as they prepare for another survival bid. Leeds showed the value of managerial continuity last term.
