Jamie Vardy's success abroad won't come as a surprise to Leicester City supporters
Jamie Vardy has taken to life in Serie A like a fish to water, impressing immediately at Cremonese with his consistent performances after ending his iconic association with Leicester City over the summer
Over the past decade, Leicester have enjoyed the most successful period in their history, clinching the Premier League title in 2016 alongside FA Cup and Community Shield honours in 2021 - even if more recent history hasn't favoured the Foxes.
During this time, a number of key operators contributed massively to the success Leicester achieved. Crowds at the King Power Stadium were wowed by the likes of Riyad Mahrez, N'Golo Kanté and James Maddison.
However, the most iconic player linked to the Foxes during this time has to be Jamie Vardy. The 38-year-old made 500 appearances for Leicester, scoring 200 goals and played a pivotal role in bringing such success to the club.

After 13 years at the King Power, Vardy exited Leicester in 2025 and joined Italian outfit Cremonese. The striker proved he was still capable of performing at the highest level, scoring nine Premier League goals the year before.
Vardy hasn’t wasted time settling in to the Italian game and has netted four times in his last seven league matches. This fine form has been recognised by the division, with the former Fox awarded Serie A’s Player of the Month award for November.
He becomes the first English player to claim the prize since its inception in 2019, despite Cremonese losing all three of their matches during November.
The award is voted for by supporters in combination with individual statistical data and positional data are also taken into account.
Following Vardy’s crowning, Serie A CEO Luigi De Siervo praised the striker for his ability to transcend time and continue to perform at the highest level when speaking to the Serie A website.
“Jamie Vardy is truly a player from another era. One of those talents who, with their history, their achievements and the indomitable spirit with which they live every match, best express the romance of football.
"His arrival at Cremonese, who were quick to seize the opportunity this summer, was greeted with great enthusiasm by all Serie A fans, and Vardy is repaying them with top-level performances, innate leadership and important goals."

Vardy exited Leicester at the end of last season, after two relegations in his final three years at the club had somewhat dampened their relationship.
The Foxes may now regret not fighting harder to keep him on their books however, given how their respective seasons have gone.
Marti Cifuentes’ side sit 13th in the Championship after 20 matches, scoring 27 times in that period, which places them in the middle of the division’s goalscoring rankings.
With Vardy still up top, Leicester would no doubt have scored much more often, which could’ve propelled them into the top six at this stage in the campaign.
Alas, that wasn’t to be, and the Foxes will have to carve out a play-off charge without the veteran’s services. His absence is sorely felt, but Leicester supporters will love seeing him still doing what he does best at the highest level.
